ABOUT US
Bread of Life Giving is a nonprofit organization close to my heart. It was born out of my volunteer work more than 40 years ago at Emmanuel Baptist Church in San Jose, California. What started as a small vision rooted in faith and service has grown into a registered nonprofit organization, recognized by both the State of California and the federal government. Since beginning this work in 1980, that vision has continued to grow into what Bread of Life Giving is today—a 501(c)(3) organization serving the community at a deeper level.
Each year, we serve over 1300 meals and distribute more than 2,000 jackets and clothing items to those in need. These efforts reflect what can happen when compassion, faith, and commitment come together to uplift others.
Since becoming a 501(c)(3), we have partnered with City Team Ministry and adopted a women’s shelter, which we visit every two months to provide support, care, and a warm presence.
Our work is made possible by dedicated volunteers from across Santa Clara County. We have been blessed to partner with the men’s and women’s basketball teams from San Jose State University, along with local high schools and churches, all contributing through their community service efforts.
Our outreach continues to grow, and we remain committed to serving unhoused individuals with dignity, care, and purpose. Every step of this journey is personal, and with your support, we will continue to make a difference—one person at a time.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to uplift unhoused and low-income individuals across Santa Clara County by providing nourishing food, clothing, and vital health and wellness services. Rooted in compassion, we are dedicated to restoring dignity and offering hope to those facing hardship, while building partnerships that strengthen and support our community.
